Sources of funding

The Garden is funded and managed by Saffron Walden Town Council as one of its many open spaces. The Friends provides professional advice and practical gardening support; it also contributes financially to items and projects in the Garden.

Members of The Friends pay an annual subscription which helps to make things happen in the Garden.  The Friends also asks for a donation from clubs and societies taking a guided tour of the Garden or for giving a lecture and this brings in helpful extra income.

Donations and legacies made via The Friends are another invaluable addition to the Garden’s funding. You may donate to The Friends here and find out more about leaving a legacy (or remembering a love one) here.

Acknowledgments

The Friends of Bridge End Gardens would like to thank the following people and organisations for their contributions:

                     Rotary Club Saffron Walden

In 2023 the Rotary Club offered £1250 for the production of four information boards for entrances to the Garden. This came from a bequest to the Rotary Club Saffron Walden from one of their late

members, Donald Purkiss.

We would like to thank the generous donors who have contributed to the restoration projects.  Click here to learn about the restoration.

We thank and credit the following people and organisations for permitting us the use of their images on this website: Inger O'Meara, Jilly McNaughton, Jerry Lanfear, John Bagley, Liz Lake, Megan Ridgewell, Saffron Walden Town Council, Simon Ross, Liz Lake Associates and The Fry Gallery. (We have tried to obtain permission for the use of all photographic images. If you do not wish your image to be used, please contact us.)
