Opening times
-
The Garden is open all year round but closes at 4pm on Christmas Eve and reopens at 11am on 26 December, Boxing Day
-
The Walled Garden with Visitor Centre and Maze are officially open 8am – 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am – 12noon on Friday
-
Volunteers open and close the Walled Garden and the Maze on Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday. Core times for these areas are 10am – 4pm but this may vary
-
The Maze is closed in the winter from Christmas to Easter to allow it to recover, and also for a few days in late summer for the massive task of hedge trimming. It may be closed at other times during the autumn if heavy rain has made the paths wet
-
The Walled Garden is sometimes closed for events at weekends, although the Visitor Centre and an accessible toilet may be open

-
Very occasionally the Garden is closed for safety reasons if bad weather is expected
-
Contact the Tourist Information Centre for the most up to date information about opening times for the Maze and Walled Garden

Accessibility
-
No dogs other than assistance dogs are permitted in the Garden

-
This historic garden was created in Victorian times and has hardly changed from the original layout
-
There is no parking at the Garden - the nearest public car parks can be found at Caton's Lane (W3W: ///scrolled.land.tastier) and Swan Meadow (W3W: ///fulfilled.eyelid.tractor)

-
The paths allow you to see most of the Garden but there are flights of steps that limit access
-
The Maze paths are just wide enough for a standard wheelchair
-
There are two toilets at the Visitor Centre. One is a fully accessible toilet with baby changing facilities (these may be closed after 4pm)
-
Ball games are not permitted in the Garden. There is a park, play area and open space for ball games at the nearby Anglo-American Playing Fields adjacent to the Garden
